Portfolio

Investment is defined as all activities that aim to increase the capital or wealth. Portfolio, on the other hand, is the component of these capital or wealth. Those may be cash, precious metals, foreign exchange, deposit, capital market instruments or real estate.

Portfolio Management

Capital Market regulations define portfolio management as the managing of the assets of the investor as agent in the line of risk/income expectation of the investor or portfolio manager according to a portfolio management contract signed by the investor. Those assets consist of securities (Securities: Negotiable instruments which, represent a share or participation in the property of the issuer or an obligation of the issuer, represent a specified quantity of money, are of a series of instruments of the same nature, have the same wording, are dealt in as a medium for investment, are fungible, earn periodic income and have the terms and conditions determined by the Board. "Other Capital Market Instruments" are not Securities and which have terms and conditions determined by the Board) money market instruments, future and option contracts, cash, foreign exchange, deposit and other instruments accepted by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey
